Susie Burnett, UBMD Emergency MedicineResearcherSusie Burnett is a member of the research team in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University at Buffalo and a paramedic in Syracuse, NY. She earned a doctoral degree from the University at Albany in communication, focused on health-related contexts, and a master of science degree in community health from SUNY Cortland. Her research interests include resuscitation science, layperson interventions in emergencies, social determinants of health and health equity, and EMS clinicians.
Brian Clemency, Universty at BuffaloDr. Clemency has been involved in prehospital care for over 25 years, beginning his career as a firefighter and emergency medical technician. Dr. Clemency completed both medical school and an MBA in health care administration in 4 years, before coming to Buffalo to continue his medical education. He is double boarded in Emergency Medicine and Emergency Medical Services. Dr. Clemency is a local, regional and national leader in prehospital care, education and research. His research focuses on all aspects of prehospital care, with a special interest in confirming or refuting existing paradigms.
