The Vital Signs EMS Games bring together teams of EMTs and Paramedics from across New York State for an adrenaline-filled competition sponsored by Aura Prep and the BMCC Paramedic Program. This high-energy event features realistic, high-pressure scenarios that challenge participants’ clinical skills, decision-making, and teamwork.
Working in teams of two, competitors put their training to the test—delivering emergency care, solving complex patient problems, and thinking fast under pressure—all in pursuit of top honors. More than just a contest, the Vital Signs EMS Games celebrate excellence in EMS education and strengthen the network of skilled first responders across the state.

Competition Tracks
The 2026 Vital Signs EMS Games will feature three exciting competition tracks—Emergency Medical Technician, Paramedic, and Advanced Care Paramedic—designed to challenge teams in realistic, high-pressure scenarios that test skills, knowledge, and teamwork.
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT): Teams will face a range of BLS emergencies, demonstrating strong assessment and core life-saving skills including airway and ventilation management, bleeding control, splinting, CPR/AED use, obstetrical support, medication administration, and more—all within New York State BLS protocols.
Paramedic: Competitors should be ready to manage both routine and complex ALS emergencies. Scenarios may require advanced procedures such as RSI/DSI and needle decompression, with an emphasis on sound clinical judgment and adherence to New York State ALS collaborative protocols.
Advanced Care Paramedic: This advanced track focuses on the highest level of prehospital care. Teams will be challenged with invasive procedures such as escharotomy and finger thoracostomy, interpretation of labs and imaging, and management of critical devices like ventilators and balloon pumps, guided by IBSC and CAMTS standards.
Across all tracks, participants will be evaluated on the timeliness, appropriateness, and effectiveness of their care, with the ultimate goal of achieving the best possible patient outcomes.
