Dekeya Slaughter, BSc(Hons), NREMT-P has over 18 years of experience in injury prevention and 7 years in Emergency Medical Services (EMS). She is the Associate Director of Healthcare Standards in Trauma Surgery at NYC Health + Hospitals/ Kings County, where she leverages trauma registry data to develop and lead community education and outreach initiatives aimed at reducing injury rates and enhancing public health outcomes. She is a working Paramedic credentialed by the NYC Regional Emergency Medical Advisory Committee (NYC REMAC), the New York State Department of Health's Bureau of Emergency Medical Services and Trauma Systems, and the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT). Her dual expertise in injury prevention and EMS informs her comprehensive approach to identifying risk factors, implementing effective safety measures, and delivering targeted education to minimize adverse events.
