Michael Redlener, MD, FAEMS is a board-certified Emergency and EMS physician, Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and the medical director of the Emergency Department at Mount Sinai West Hospital. He has been the medical director for EMS and Disaster Preparedness at Mount Sinai Morningside and Mount Sinai West for nearly a decade. With a focus on systems of care and quality improvement, he has worked to improve the function of care delivery in trauma and disaster preparedness, cardiac care and stroke across the continuum of care. He has led large-scale systems of care change in New York City to redefine the way stroke care is delivered in New York City.

Dr. Redlener serves as the President of the National EMS Quality Alliance (NEMSQA), leading the national effort to develop quality measures for EMS. As the former chair of the National Association of EMS Physician Quality and Safety Committee, he co-founded the NAEMSP Quality and Safety Course, a groundbreaking course designed to advance quality improvement in EMS. He also serves as the Chair of the Quality Committee for New York City REMAC and as a member of the New York State EMS Council Committee on Quality Measures. He received his medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, trained at NYU/Bellevue for Emergency Medicine and at the New York City Fire Department for his EMS Fellowship.
