Alex is a first-year medical student at SUNY Upstate Medical University, where he is enrolled in the accelerated 3-Year MD Program in Emergency Medicine. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences while working and volunteering as an EMT in the Castleton, NY area. With over six years of EMS experience, including more than two years as Chief of Operations, he has also contributed to EMS data analysis and quality improvement initiatives across the state. His academic and clinical interests include rural emergency care, EMS systems, and strengthening continuity between prehospital and emergency department care. Deeply connected to Upstate New York through both his personal and professional background, Alex is passionate about leadership development within EMS and supporting clinicians who are navigating the path from field care to medical school.
