Full Name
Anthony Almojera
Job Title
EMS Lieutenant
Company
Fire Department of New York
Speaker Bio
A Brooklyn native, Anthony Almojera is a world traveler who has visited close to 100 countries, and is a practicing Buddhist. He is a board member for the EMS FDNY Help
Fund, a non-profit organization established by active EMS personnel to assist EMTs and Paramedics in overcoming financial and emotional hardship.

Bridging the disparities faced by FDNY EMS, in sharp contrast to FDNY Firefighters and the NYPD, has always been a driving force for Anthony; but the horrors they experienced as first responders during the COVID-19 pandemic triggered his deepest traumas, propelling him to write Riding the Lightning.

Since March of 2020, Anthony Almojera has been profiled on the front page of the Washington Post and featured by CNN, Al Jazeera, USA Today, NPR, the BBC, and numerous other media outlets. Most recently, The New York Times: Sunday Edition highlighted an entire day in his life as an EMS Lieutenant post-pandemic, particularly after the release of his very well received memoir.
