Anthony Almojera is a Brooklyn native, FDNY EMS Lieutenant, author, and advocate for equity within New York City’s emergency services. A world traveler and practicing Buddhist, he serves on the board of the EMS FDNY Help Fund, supporting EMTs and paramedics through financial and emotional hardship. His acclaimed memoir, Riding the Lightning, was born from his experiences on the front lines during the COVID-19 pandemic. Anthony’s story has been featured by The Washington Post, CNN, NPR, BBC, and The New York Times Sunday Edition, bringing national attention to the challenges and resilience of EMS professionals.
