First responders are often the first line of care for those with substance use disorder (SUD), especially in instances of overdose. Unfortunately, connecting a patient to ongoing care can be complicated, especially when patients refuse transport or services. In this session, with over a decade of experience in the field, Martie will discuss the challenges faced when serving this population, and how first responders can utilize resources, such as the MATTERS platform, to bridge gaps in support.
